Motofix Accident Repair Centres complete switch to Spies Hecker to save on energy costs

3 May 2022 – Motofix Accident Repair Centres, has switched all nine of its sites across the Home Counties and Southwest England, to Spies Hecker in order to reap energy-savings benefits. Motofix has included its prestige paint and body centre in Cirencester, due to open in September, in the move to the easy-to-use Spies Hecker paint systems.

Richard Tutt, Founder and Chairman of Motofix, says the decision to use Spies Hecker exclusively was an easy one. “We have been a Spies Hecker customer for more than 10 years and we have always been impressed by how comprehensive yet easy-to-use its paint systems are,” he says.

Making energy savings in a challenging time

With energy prices rising, making cost savings has become increasingly important for businesses and Motofix is no exception. The Spies Hecker Speed-TEC range plays a significant role in helping Motofix to reduce energy use in the spray booth and by extension reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

“The Speed-TEC range is revolutionary. It has completely transformed the entire bodyshop process, not only by shortening our repair processes but also by reducing our energy costs, and it still delivers the exceptional results our customers expect from us. And because we’re exclusively using Spies Hecker, it enables our 220-strong team to share best practice across all our sites, and by doing so continues to drive improved performance for the business as a whole,” says Tutt.

A smooth and simple switch

The transition to Spies Hecker across the nine sites was easy, according to Tutt.

“In my 32 years in the business, I can honestly say I have not experienced such a smooth installation transition – the move from our former supplier to 100 per cent Spies Hecker was made easy thanks to the fully customised support from Julian Lambert and his team at Spies Hecker. They are always on hand to offer guidance and support if we need anything,” he says.

Julian Lambert, Axalta’s Strategic Account Specialist in the UK and Ireland, says, “We successfully switched all of Motofix’s sites to Spies Hecker with minimal interruption to their daily workflow. The fact they are already reaping the very tangible cost-savings benefits from using our innovative paint systems, demonstrates that working closely with your customers to help them run successful bodyshops, works. It’s a straight-forward ethos that Spies Hecker has always stood by.”
