Effect paintwork

Iridescent effects are in trend. Spies Hecker’s new Permahyd mixing colours containing ChromaFlair pigments add to the colour and accuracy of refinished effect paintwork. It’s green one second, and blue the next – the car gently changes colour depending on the angle of view. There’s no doubt about it: Iridescent effect pigments in OEM finishes create bewitching colour effects. And they’re becoming an increasingly common sight on our roads. However, it is precisely these iridescent colours that can be a real challenge for refinishers. “To support bodyshops in the repair of effect finishes, we’ve developed new waterborne mixing colours containing special pigments,” explains Frank Barduna, head of training at Spies Hecker GmbH. “The same interference pigments are also used on the production line to enable paints to flip from one colour to another. With this innovative paint material, we can now reproduce these colour effects in the bodyshop.” Paint manufacturer Spies Hecker is now offering its customers six special ChromaFlair mixing colours. “By using these new mixing colours containing ChromaFlair pigments, it is now possible to replicate the more than 30 original paint colours,” Frank Barduna stresses. What make these pigments special is their high colour intensity, stability and effect. Thanks to ease of application and good coverage, optimum painting results are assured. Another benefit is that the paint materials are easy to handle and hence easy to integrate in the bodyshop’s work processes. The new mixing colours are available as of May. Frank Barduna: “Spies Hecker partners can obtain the desired OEM colour straight from their Spies Hecker outlet or distributor.”
