There’s a trend towards matt finishes. Spies Hecker has the ideal refinish solution in the shape of its Permasolid Matt Component MA 110 additive and its special paint system recommendations.
 
From now on, bodyshops can expect to encounter a growing number of matt OEM finishes in need of repair. This is because a personalized vehicle appearance is becoming a powerful selling point in the car trade – a major challenge for the vehicle refinisher. “Special models with special finishes and new effects may call for a specialized refinishing process,” claims Frank Barduna, Technical Manager at Spies Hecker GmbH. “So that the matt finish can be expertly restored to its former state, matching product systems have to be employed.”
 
Permasolid Matt Component MA 110 for clear coat
A current example is Mercedes Benz with its CLS Grand Edition special model painted in designo magno platin matt finish. “Our new Permasolid Matt Component MA 110 is a product solution that makes paint makes the repair of such sensitive matt finishes possible,” says the Cologne-based manufacturer. The component is mixed with Permasolid HS Clear Coat 8030 in a weight ratio of 75/25 and 70/30 per cent. “This way the refinisher obtains an optimal and uniform matting effect,” Frank Barduna stresses. “A detailed datasheet describes the refinish process and supplies the user with specific instructions for part and complete resprays.” The refinisher thus receives a complete guide for an expert refinish and achieves the low degree of gloss required for the specific matt paintwork repair.
 
The repair of matt series finishes calls in all cases for special care and a balanced product system. Mercedes Benz has therefore approved putty, primer, surfacer, elasticizing agent, top coat and matting agent from Spies Hecker for paintwork repairs.
