Tactically clever: the new Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810

Permasolid® Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810 from Spies Hecker dries particularly quickly at low room temperatures and offers bodyshops a tactical solution for a higher throughput as well as the ability to reduce operating costs and to generate additional business.

The pioneering Axalta technology used in the new Spies Hecker Permasolid Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810 significantly speeds up work processes in bodyshops. The very short drying times enable a higher throughput with a standard repair taking as little as one hour. Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810 also makes it will be economically viable for many bodyshops to expand the small area repairs business.

Bodyshops who are keen to save money can do so by drying Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810 in 10 to 15 minutes at 40°C or even air drying in 30 to 55 minutes. The vehicle can be removed from the spraybooth immediately after drying and further processed after a short cooling period thanks to very good curing provided by patented Axalta technology. Spraybooth times are reduced by up to 25 per cent and the Hi-TEC Base Coat and Speed-TEC Clear Coat can be dried consistently at a low standard temperature, which helps to reduce energy consumption significantly.

Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810 can be applied in either 1.5 or two spray coats, it can be adapted to the original finish for optimal results. The outstanding filling power reduces the polishing effort, since small specks or dust particles can be covered.

Thanks to the new technology, there is no need to activate the Permahyd® Hi-TEC Base Coat 480 before applying the clearcoat, making use that much easier, provided bodyshops also use the right Permasolid Speed-TEC Surfacer.

Car manufacturers are increasingly bringing vehicles with brilliant effect paint finishes onto the market and to address this trend, Permasolid Speed-TEC Clear Coat 8810 can be adjusted with all Permasolid Color additives.

"With the new Speed-TEC clearcoat and the Speed-TEC surfacers, we are following the trend towards shorter spray booth time and reduced drying times," says Joachim Hinz, Brand Manager Spies Hecker EMEA. "The new clear coat is easy to use for the refinisher, the efficiency increases, the operating costs decrease and the waiting time for the customer is reduced - it couldn't be better."
